Jo-Anne has been practicing yoga since 2004. She began her practice while recovering from a neck injury and trying to find a way to attain inner stillness and peace.
In taking classes, Jo-Anne realized how drawn she was to the healing power and philosophy of yoga. She felt a need to expand her awareness and had a strong desire to share with others; this lead her to enroll in Yoga Havens Teacher Training Program with Betsy Kase, where she received her 200 hour yoga training, Yoga For Kids and Restorative teacher training.
Jo-Anne graduated from Manhattan College in 1998 with a BS in Exercise Physiology and received her MS in Guidance and Counseling from The College of New Rochelle. Jo-Anne centered her career on teaching. She currently works with special needs students and has incorporated Yoga into the curriculum.
Her yoga classes are designed to concentrate on alignment, flow, and breathing techniques. She encourages her Yoga students to take what they learn on the mat off the mat and into the world. With each class she continues to learn more about self awareness, inner peace, and spiritual development.
